What does it mean to be alive? Not the meaning or purpose of
life, but the nature of life compared to death. Could it be as
simple as ... to be alive is to be in relationship with God, and
to be dead is to be hostile to, and cut off from, Him? I
sometimes wonder if I would be willing to give up this earthly life
of death to be with my God, to be truly
alive. I suppose He will take me home when He decides to.
These are not suicidal thoughts, which would be to desire
my own death. Rather, these are reflections of my desire to be
truly alive, to be fully connected to my Savior, the one who
made me and gave me life.
