the door

A shadow breaks the
moonlit silence
searching, trying to find the way
But all he can find is emptiness
longing for light to choke the darkness
Gazing in, through the window
feeling the warmth within
Trying to find an entrance
Crawling underneath, climbing to the top
Sneaking around the side
Feeling for a door
searching for a crack
he can feel the light
Reaching, searching, longing for a home
Reach out, touch Him, He is the door
Step by step he climbs higher
moving on to a better place
He finds that he's all alone now
though he stands on the top of the world
Looking for a reason
searching for the answers
Asking all the questions
Why am I here? Where am I going?
Is anyone out there?
Will I ever have peace?
Is there any hope for the future?
Is there any more than this?
Reaching, searching, longing for a home
Reach out, touch Him, He is the door
His arms are open wide to welcome you inside
I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life
No one comes to the Father apart from Me
He’s reaching, calling, waiting for you
Reach out, touch Him, He’ll never let you go
