silence

Silence is the air I
breathe
Stillness is all I feel
I listen in this quiet
place
to hear the sound of
Thee walking beside me
The world out there is
cold and cruel
and I don't know why I'm
still here
Sometimes I wonder,
"Are You there?"
when I forget to be
still and know that You are God
I am in the hands of God
I don't want to be
always running to and fro
Out of control, and I
can't stand still now
You never fail
You're always, fully
in control
Never forsaking,
never leaving me
I rest beside this quiet
stream
I lay my head on softest
green
Somehow You have
restored my soul
Life is more than bread,
life is the very words You say
I listen to every word
You say
When nights are long
it's hard to see
all the ways You've been
faithful to me
Then Your morning shines
once more
How can I forget all You
have done that I might see
glory beyond this world
I see
I don't want to be
always running to and fro
Out of control, and I
can't stand still now
You never fail
You're always, fully
in control
Never forsaking,
never leaving me
Never forsaking,
never leaving me
